This workshop helps you take stock of how you're spending your time and energy, and whether it actually lines up with what matters most to you. Through reflection and exercises, you'll figure out what to keep investing in, what to let go of, and where new opportunities for a more meaningful life might be hiding.

What if you could step back and see your life the way an architect sees a building—not just the day-to-day rooms you move through, but the entire structure you're creating? Most of us are so busy living that we rarely pause to ask: Am I building something that truly reflects who I am and what I care about?

This workshop creates that rare space to look at your life as a whole portfolio of investments—your time, relationships, energy, and commitments—and honestly assess whether they're adding up to something meaningful or just keeping you busy.

Whether you're facing a major transition or simply feeling like something's off, this is your chance to redesign your life with intention, letting go of what's weighing you down and making room for what could genuinely light you up.

We will use the Birren Center Guided Autobiography principles and prompting questions, writing exercises and group sharing to guide you through the weekly content.
This 6 week workshop is for you if:
  • You're at a life transition or feeling like something's off
  • You're willing to get honest about where your time and energy actually go
  • You're ready to make real changes, not just think about them
  • You want practical tools to turn reflection into action
  • You sense more meaning is possible but aren't sure how to find it
  • You value depth and are open to letting go of what no longer serves you

This 6 week workshop is NOT for you if:
  • You want someone to tell you exactly what to do with your life
  • You're not ready to examine hard truths or make meaningful changes
  • You prefer surface-level inspiration over deep reflective work
  • You're in crisis mode and need immediate support (therapy would be better)
  • You want quick productivity hacks rather than deeper inquiry into meaning and purpose

Hello! I'm Angie, Your Facilitator For This Class

Turning 50 hit me differently than I expected. It wasn't about getting older—it was about suddenly seeing my life with startling clarity and realizing that some of the things I'd been pouring myself into for years weren't actually taking me where I wanted to go. I found myself at multiple crossroads at once: relationships shifting, career questions surfacing, old dreams resurfacing alongside new possibilities I'd never considered.

The weight of it all felt paralyzing until I started doing the work from this workshop—actually mapping out where my time, energy, and heart were going, and asking myself the hard questions about whether those investments still made sense.
What I discovered through this process changed everything.

By treating my life like a portfolio I could actively manage rather than something that just happened to me, I found the courage to let go of commitments that were draining me and make space for what genuinely mattered. It wasn't easy, and it wasn't quick, but it gave me a framework and a language for the messy, uncomfortable work of realigning my life with my deepest values. I am facilitating this GAB style workshop because I know I'm not alone in this—so many of us reach these pivot points feeling stuck or scattered, unsure how to move forward. If the tools and reflections that helped me navigate my own transitions can help even one person find more clarity, purpose, and freedom in their life, then this work matters deeply to me.
